Get ready to hit the beautiful roads of the Bay Area with your Best Buddies ride team! We’re revisiting two cycling favorites for locals and visitors alike, showcasing the best variety of scenery anywhere in Northern California. On Saturday, July 13th, we’ll meander from Sausalito through Marin and down the coastal stretch of Highway 1 before we tackle the climb back over to Tam Junction for coffee and pastries at Equator Coffees!
Can’t make it, or want to double up? Join us on July 16th for a loop from Los Gatos through Saratoga and Cupertino to the beautiful rolling hills of Stevens Canyon and Mt. Eden Roads. We will enjoy refreshments back at Mike’s Bikes after the ride!

As we gear up for the BEST BUDDIES CHALLENGE on October 14th, enjoy our monthly hot lap around Marin with our Northern California crew. We will meander through central Marin, then set a spirited pace of around 18 MPH on Sir Francis Drake, practicing our rotating paceline skills to our first regroup point in Olema; then south on Hwy 1 to Stinson Beach for a water refill; and finally back to Sausalito via Equator Coffee Proof Lab in Tam Junction for some delicious caffeine. Riders will also enjoy 15% off at Mike’s Bikes Sausalito after the ride. Open to all, so please join us!

A must-do Marin county ride through the rural expanse of the west county; we gather at 8:45am for a 9am roll time at Mike’s Bikes in Sausalito, then climb to Big Rock on Lucas Valley Road, descend to Nicasio Valley Road where we’ll take a left and proceed out Sir Francis Drake to Olema (regroup 1). Then we’ll head north through Point Reyes Station and up Hwy 1 to Marshall Road, take a right, and climb “Marshall Wall” to the summit (regroup 2) before descending down to Pt Reyes-Petaluma Road (regroup 3). There we’ll take a right and go back to Nicasio Valley Road to Lucas Valley Road, and back over Big Rock to complete the loop.

A shorter, less intense route will also be supported
After gathering at 5:45pm, we will be pedals up by 6:10, and follow Shoreline Hwy over to Muir Beach, north towards Stinson, then hang a hard right up Panoramic Hwy for one of Marin’s benchmark climbs. Two groups will form, one going hard from Muir Beach; the next following a more civilized pace. Each will regroup at Pantoll Ranger’s Station before descending back to the bike shop for hot pizza and drinks, courtesy of Best Buddies.
